Over the Rainbow / Simple Gifts - The Piano Guys

It's sound trip time! I am really mesmerized by this wonderful version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow / Simple Gifts by The Piano Guys. I also do play piano ever since high school & the first instrumental piece I've finished was Canon D by Pachelbel. Playing a grand piano along the sea shore is also one of my greatest dreams.

I love the beat & the combination of the piano & cello. Can't wait to use this song during our wedding entourage processional.

More soundtripping soon!

Birthday with a Cause

Aries' (my fiance) birthday is coming up & he's going to celebrate it with his officemate Noe. They plan to celebrate their birthdays together with the kids of Perpertual Succour Hospital Cebu Cancer Insittute. As always, he delegated the invitation task to me because for him I'm the most creative person he knows (haha!). To be honest, I am not really good in using photoshop or other photo editing softwares. I always do shortcut softwares such as Paint or Picasa. Good thing I recently discovered this Iphone App where you could type captions using their wide array of chic fonts on top of your photos. The name of the app is Typic Pro and yes! I bought the full version of it in order for me to avail the other fonts for just $1.99.

I can't believe I could create an instant invite like this using my new app. I got the backgrounds via Pinterest & just chose my preferred filter. You could also make the background blur, add frame & apply some design elements such as circles, banners, etc. Below is the first sample I've made for Aries & Noe's Birthday invite. My inspiration here is a little bit festive.

My second sample is a chevron-inspired design. I chose yellow chevron because yellow is the general colour symbol of hope & awareness for people with cancer.

And here's my last design where I got the most number of votes. My friends like this one because of the summer vibes & happy colours. It actually reminds me of Cebu known for its finest green & ripe mangoes.

And here's the final invite suite for Aries & Noe's Birthday! Hope they like it. :)
Till my next post!

Why Summer Breakfast Dates?

I dedicate this blog to my "soon-to-be" husband, lover & best friend whom I first met at the very lovely Calaguas Island in Camarines Norte last summer 2010. We went there separately with our own set of friends but didn't have a chance to be engaged in longer conversations. When we arrived in Manila, he asked me out for a breakfast date which eventually followed by more breakfast dates. It all happened throughout the summer and that's how our love story began. This blog will always reminds me of endless conversations, summers & breakfast dates with him.

Being an avid fan of summer season, I am so blessed that I'm living in a country where summer is endless. I'm such a lover of sun rays, blue ocean, good music & all kind of positivity that goes with it. Summer became my source of energy & inspiration.

Breakfast on the other hand is my favourite way of spending time with my loved ones & discussing all of my thoughts under the sun. Just like breakfast, this blog will become my outlet of ideas, inspirations & adventures of my upcoming married life.

I am now officially launching my first post today.
Looking forward to serve you more breakfast posts here in my blog.
Your "soon-to-be"  breakfast date,
 Gracey :)
